The Professional Barber Course at NYM Academy is designed to teach you everything you need to know to excel in this demanding profession. Under the guidance of Rony Nachef, an expert with more than 20 years of experience, you will learn basic and advanced techniques, ranging from traditional blade shaving to beard styling and creative hair designs. We also cover the science and art of coloring, including highlights and beard coloring, to ensure you master all aspects of the craft.
Our training is progressive: you will start by practicing on hobby shoes, then on mannequins, before working on real clients. Each student receives a complete professional kit, including all the equipment needed to start their career. At the end of the course, you will benefit from an internship at one of our 25 partner salons across Canada, as well as guaranteed job opportunities for 99% of our graduates.

In addition, you will be trained in hair treatments, wedding and occasion buns, and styling techniques to meet the varied needs of your future clients.

The Braiding Course at NYM Academy is designed to teach you the most in-demand braiding techniques, from traditional styles to modern creations. Whether you’re just starting out or want to hone your skills, this course will allow you to master techniques like African braiding, bonded braids, box braids, and much more. You’ll also learn how to tailor your designs to suit the occasion, whether it’s weddings, special events, or everyday looks.
Our hands-on approach allows you to work on real-life mannequins and clients, under the supervision of experienced professionals. At the end of the course, you will receive a recognized certificate and have the opportunity to participate in internships at partner salons. With braiding skills, you will be able to offer unique services and increase your value in the job market.

The Hair Extension Course at NYM Academy is a comprehensive training that will teach you everything you need to know about hair extensions. You will learn the different application methods, including cold, hot, clip-in, and glue extensions, as well as maintenance techniques to ensure hair longevity and health. This course is ideal for those who want to specialize in a growing area of the hairdressing industry.
Our training emphasizes practice, with live demonstrations and exercises on real mannequins and clients. You’ll also receive advice on which products to use and best practices to keep your customers happy.
